Things we love
Isabel,
Here are some things we love about you right now:
1. your proper, southern-belle manners
2. how you adore your sister
3. the way you say, "oh that house is beautiful" when we are out on our walks
4. how you call every fast food restaurant Old McDonalds
5. your culinary enthusiasm-you eat thai, indian, mexican, vietnamese, even the garnish off my plate
6. how you have taken on the responsibilty of feeding all the snails and ladybugs in the backyard so they don't go hungry
7. blowing bubbles
8. your head hugs (ed ugs) and oh ahs (regular hugs)
9. flying kites
10. how you bargain for 3 chocolates every night, no more, no less
11. your shared passion with dad for Halloween
12. how you help dad pick out his work clothes each morning
13. piggy-back rides in the pool
14. playing "mom" to Liza
Here is how you celebrated your birthday:
On Friday I brought cupcakes for your class. All was good until they sang Happy Birthday and you burst into tears. You and dad swam under the moon and stayed up late. On Saturday we went to Chuck E. Cheese. Your favorite was playing basketball. After we got home I set your Dora cake out and went to get your presents. When I came back you were already digging into the cake. Then you swam and blew bubbles with dad. You have declared that you are not 4, you are going to remain 3. A bit young to be fibbing about our age, aren't we?

Newest re-model
Ryan gets a little bored after football season so he decided to re-model one of our bathrooms. One Saturday he put on coveralls, workboots, gloves, and goggles and started demolishing everything. Isabel came and told me there was a man in our house in a purple suit who was fixing her bathroom. I had to take her upstairs and show her that the man was her dad. This was the bathroom that used to be smurf blue. Ryan did all the work himself: the tiling, counter, paint, lighting, and plumbing.

My first slideshow
I spent forever figuring out how to post a slideshow on here. The pictures I used are old but I will get some new ones up soon. I figured this out just in time for Isabel's birthday this weekend. She wants a bike, matchbox cars, a screwdriver, a swiffer wet jet, and of course a cake. Strange list. We had an eventful week last week. Isabel pooped her pants one day, somehow managed to drop the turd on the floor, step in it, and then run all over the house screaming. Then I clogged the toilet in the process of cleaning everything up. On Thursday we were trying to get to the doctor and discovered a decapitated, gutted mouse outside the door. One of the cats was trying to get some attention. Isabel just grabbed a broom and was all set to clean it up (where's her swiffer wet jet when she needs it.) We did get to the doctor where Liza had her first round of shots. She was not impressed. She cried so much Isabel thought we should give her away. We had to take the whole weekend to relax.

Playtime
Isabel treats Liza like a big doll. She feeds her with her play bottles, covers her up, sings to her, and tells her I love you baby. I don't know what she is going to do when Eliza is big enough to escape. She'll always have the cats I guess. Oh and next time Isabel says here mom and hands me something I'm going to pay more attention because she handed me a giant green booger the other day.

Isabel's new room
Making a big girl room for Isabel was one of our re-modeling projects this year. She picked the bright pink paint herself. She made it very clear that the room had to be pink. Ryan did all the wainscoting himself. It took longer than we planned because he had to measure and cut each and every board. Then I had the fun task of painting them. But Isabel is happy with the outcome and so is Sam; he sleeps under the bed during the day.
