Issi's Day

Opening gifts. Dad went shopping for presents this year and spoiled her ROTTEN! He must have bought everything he saw but of course he is not the one picking/vacuuming up the pieces.

Astounding she was actually quiet and still for longer than 5 minutes and she wasn't sleeping.

Liza: "Hey wait a minute...somebody pulled a fast one here, this isn't all about me?"

frosting with a few cupcakes thrown in.

Isabel and Abigail.

I would have done a post about the 4th of July but it is so hot and dry down here they banned fireworks. Normally Ryan stocks up and puts on a show with the neighbors. This year we are just keeping cool in the pool. We decided not to brave the crowds for the big fireworks show since just walking across a parking lot makes you feel you are melting.

The pictures are from Issi's birthday. The kids all stayed seated and concentrated on painting, you could have heard a pin drop. It was amazing and just Isabel's thing. The girls both painted cats of course.

Recital 2011

Isabel had another recital. Tap, jazz, and ballet this year. Now she is more interested in pursuing gymnastics and swimming. I'm glad we can be done with all that make-up.

Kitties!

We can't get enough of these kitties. They are just too cute. Liza carried them around in a basket the other day saying, "Kitties be nice to your mommy. I love you. Don't bite me." She gets so excited around them she can hardly control herself. Sam on the other hand is not feeling the love so much. I think they are about to reach detente though.

Memorial Day Weekend

A little pool time

Before

After

Ginger

Jinx

We had a busy holiday weekend. Ryan and Isabel went to Austin to pick out kittens. Isabel finally settled on a girl and boy from the same litter that are about 2 months old. She named the girl Ginger and Ryan named the boy Jinx. We have them housed in our guest bathroom for now but we have told Liza they live across the street and come to visit us periodically. That way they have a shot at developing typically without Liza dropping them on their heads every 1/2 hour.

We also had our 2nd Annual Yankee Crawfish Boil with some friends. Ryan and Almas did an outstanding job this year. We even got Liza to eat one.

Meow

Exactly why I didn't want a cat door. You never know what kind of creature will come crawling through it.

Historic Day

Well, well, well...look who has decided its OK to wear pants now. After nearly 4 years of dressing exclusively in skirts and dresses, Isabel has given the approval for pants. And this happens to be the only pair she owns currently.

Happy Birthday Liza!

After the pool party

A little too much partying!!

Her favorite present, the fur real kitty she named Sammy.

Liza turned 3 today. She had a pool party yesterday and a little party at school today. She was so excited to have a day just in her honor. She told the check-out guy at the grocery store that it wasn't dad's birthday, or mom's, or Isabel's but just hers. She asked for a kitty that meowed and said "Ssss." She must have invited me to her party 95 times.

All About Liza at Age 3
favorite color: purple
favorite activity: watching movies
favorite food: corndogs and anything sweet
favorite animal: cat
typical Liza quote: "My do it!"
best thing about Liza right now: her independence
most challenging thing about Liza right now: her independence
Something we want to be sure to remember about her now: how she screams, "AAAhhhh, its a boy, boys are scawee." I asked her how come she doesn't like boys and she said, "They yucky." One day she refused to eat her chocolate ice cream because brown is a boy color.
