We upgraded Liza to a big girl bed and she loves it. Her room is pink with princess stuff in it. Yesterday I asked her if she was a princess and she thought for a while before replying,"No I say Yeehaw and ride a horse." A true Texan.

Zoo Trip
I appear to be smiling but I'm actually saying, "Take the picture already."
Liza and her beloved sneaky snake.
We took our annual trip to the zoo on New Year's Day. I think we spent equal parts looking at the animals and equal parts searching for Ryan. He loves zoos. Liza went charging into the petting zoo and showed the other kids how it was done. Isabel's favorite is still the snake house.

What a week!!!
In one week we found a house we love, got into a bidding war, had inspections done, decided on financing, and set a closing date. At the same time we put our house on the market, cleaned like we were possessed, herded the kids into the car so we were out of sight for the 12 showings in 4 days, are negotiating 1 offer and have word that a 2nd offer is coming. Yikes. I need a drink. We've hardly had any time to consider how much we will miss our backyard.

Family Pictures
Its always so hard to get family pictures. And as always someone in our family is missing their pants.
Isabel really enjoyed going to see the Nutcracker Ballet this Christmas. That was my gift to my mom and Almas. Mom enjoyed the orchestra, Isabel liked the costumes, and Almas discovered she has a thing for men in tights.

We decided to go traditional with our Thanksgiving celebration this year....Americans and Indians. We had turkey, leg of lamb, stuffing, hummus. Almas and her father came over. It was his first American Thanksgiving. It was all about good food, good friends, and great memories [Almas and I can insert our own jokes here.] By the end of the night someone had even lost their pants, don't worry Ryan it wasn't you.

So Ryan's favorite holiday has come and gone. The girls actually cried when we took the Halloween decorations down. Isabel had to run and give Headless Harry one last hug. They had fun trick-or-treating with the neighbors. Ryan of course dressed up and scared the daylights out of those brave enough to come to our door. He has perfected the lights, music, and fog for maximum scare potential. Liza was Tinkerbelle and insisted on wearing Isabel's rain booots. Isabel picked out a 50's costume but on Halloween she decided she needed to be scary so she added a broom and witch's hat. She said she was a 50's witch which she explained to us was a witch who was born in the 50's. No explanation needed for me, I used to work for one of those.
