Look who's a big kid!

We upgraded Liza to a big girl bed and she loves it. Her room is pink with princess stuff in it. Yesterday I asked her if she was a princess and she thought for a while before replying,"No I say Yeehaw and ride a horse." A true Texan.

Zoo Trip

I appear to be smiling but I'm actually saying, "Take the picture already."

Liza and her beloved sneaky snake.

We took our annual trip to the zoo on New Year's Day. I think we spent equal parts looking at the animals and equal parts searching for Ryan. He loves zoos. Liza went charging into the petting zoo and showed the other kids how it was done. Isabel's favorite is still the snake house.

Rock Star!

I'm still catching up on December pics. We went to Old Town Spring after Christmas whch is a very cute area with antique shops and crafty places. Its like Medora only much bigger and with a victorian theme.

What a week!!!

In one week we found a house we love, got into a bidding war, had inspections done, decided on financing, and set a closing date. At the same time we put our house on the market, cleaned like we were possessed, herded the kids into the car so we were out of sight for the 12 showings in 4 days, are negotiating 1 offer and have word that a 2nd offer is coming. Yikes. I need a drink. We've hardly had any time to consider how much we will miss our backyard.

My Christmas Present

On Christmas Eve Ryan surprised me with this table that's made from an old door. He had me convinced I was getting a TV for the kitchen though, so much so that when the table was delivered I asked if we were still getting the TV. There is also a picture of the new room we will put the table in.

Family Pictures

Its always so hard to get family pictures. And as always someone in our family is missing their pants.

Isabel really enjoyed going to see the Nutcracker Ballet this Christmas. That was my gift to my mom and Almas. Mom enjoyed the orchestra, Isabel liked the costumes, and Almas discovered she has a thing for men in tights.

More December pictures....

The girls made their annual gingerbread house. Liza thought it was great. Sam is pleased about the additions to his diet that come about every year at this time. And the girls have taken to snuggling up together every night. This has solved their scared of the dark problems.

1st Day of Winter

We had record high temps so the kids enjoyed a dip in the pool. They keep asking if we can do it again.

Thanksgiving 2010

We decided to go traditional with our Thanksgiving celebration this year....Americans and Indians. We had turkey, leg of lamb, stuffing, hummus. Almas and her father came over. It was his first American Thanksgiving. It was all about good food, good friends, and great memories [Almas and I can insert our own jokes here.] By the end of the night someone had even lost their pants, don't worry Ryan it wasn't you.

Halloween 2010

So Ryan's favorite holiday has come and gone. The girls actually cried when we took the Halloween decorations down. Isabel had to run and give Headless Harry one last hug. They had fun trick-or-treating with the neighbors. Ryan of course dressed up and scared the daylights out of those brave enough to come to our door. He has perfected the lights, music, and fog for maximum scare potential. Liza was Tinkerbelle and insisted on wearing Isabel's rain booots. Isabel picked out a 50's costume but on Halloween she decided she needed to be scary so she added a broom and witch's hat. She said she was a 50's witch which she explained to us was a witch who was born in the 50's. No explanation needed for me, I used to work for one of those.
